Culver City, California - Artist Lee Clarke, whose paintings have been exhibited at art venues in the U.S., and abroad, showcases his latest works this month at the JK Gallery in Los Angeles.

The show offers a selection of images of youthful figures in colorful, abstracted environments.  The human forms range from highly detailed contours to spacious shapes that move, emote and evolve within their settings.

Clarke’s innovative depiction of the body is derived from a variety of techniques including glazing and high impasto, that often incorporate unique materials like sharpie pens and glitter to create vibrant colors and distinctive textures.

The March 5 – April 5 exhibit marks the first time Clarke has shown at JK Gallery.  The opening reception is Saturday, March 8, 6 – 8 p.m.

Clarke’s most recent group exhibit, Young Hollywood Home, was held last year at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, CA.

Clarke currently teaches painting at Otis College of Art and Design.  He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Otis College of Art and Design in 2001 and Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles in 2003.

The gallery is located at 2682 South La Cienega Blvd. in Los Angeles.
