In addition to VSC Fellowships open to all artists and writers, a number of Special Fellowships are also awarded as part of the upcoming June 15th deadline.
Fellowships Available for the Feb 15th, 2008 deadline, with number of recipients, and Eligibility requirements include:
- General Fellowships: All artists and writers
- Civil Society Institute Fellowships (2) : Artists of color living in Jersey City, Baltimore, New Haven, or other East Coast cities
- New England Artists Awards (2-3) : Visual artists living and working in New England
- Awards for North Carolina Artists and Writers (1-2) : Visual artists and writers living and working in North Carolina
- Pavlis Fellowships (3) : African American artists or writers, with strong preference for students and alumni of Morehouse, Spelman, Fisk, and other historically Black colleges and universities
- Wheels for Wheels Award (1) : Artists/writers who use wheelchairs, or with other mobility restriction
