Call for Submissions Seeing RED: An Open-walls Exhibition at ARC Gallery
International Deadline: January 25, 2017 – ‘Seeing RED’ will be an Open Walls Exhibition, giving artists the opportunity to exhibit their work at ARC without a juror.
The color red has many associations – heat, heated emotions and violence, love, the political right, communism, a sign of warning (as in traffic lights etc), ripeness (in fruit etc), and, of course, blood.
ARC is asking artists to reflect on what “Seeing RED” might look like, what it might reference metaphorically, emotionally, politically, or literally. We’re seeking work that challenges the status quo or obvious, while asking the artists to have fun playing with this very broad title.
Open to all artists, nationwide and international. Original works created within the last ten years. All mediums and materials will be considered if they fit the size guidelines of no more than 18″ wide.
Media-based installations will be accepted if the equipment is supplied and the screen is no wider than 18 inches.
$40 for each piece submitted. $25 for each piece submitted by currently enrolled students.
Works will be for sale unless noted as NFS (not for sale) on the entry form. ARC does not take commission on any work sold, but will act as a liaison for sales of the artists’ work.
