Opportunity Description

International Deadline: July 26, 2017 – The Center for Fine Art Photography announces an international call for photographers for its upcoming exhibition, ‘Portraits’.

A portrait is a visual representation that portrays the likeness of a person, self, place, animal, or object. All human and non-human subjects and all artist renditions on the Portraits theme are welcome. All genres, capture types and photographic processes and post production processes are eligible for the exhibition.

Our calls for entry are open to all photographers world wide, both amateur and professional. The Center invites photographers working in all mediums, styles and schools of thought to participate.

JUROR | Paul Martineau
Paul Martineau is associate curator in the Department of Photographs at the J. Paul Getty Museum. He received a B.A. in art from the University of Massachusetts at Boston and a M.A. in art history from Williams College. Before joining the Getty Museum in 2003, Martineau held positions at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and at the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute. He has organized numerous exhibitions at the Getty covering a range of topics that span from the beginnings of photographic history to today. Artists selected for exhibition by our Juror are invited to attend the Artist Immersion Weekend. The Immersion Weekends include a Public Reception followed by a dinner on the town, a Private Portfolio Review with Hamidah Glasgow, Artist Group Lunch and a Portfolio Share with Professional Development Discussion. All selected artists are included in the Main Gallery Exhibition and Online Gallery seen by an international audience.

Center Award: $400
Forward Award: $200
Honorable Mention Awards: 1-year membership and submission to a Call for Entry.

In addition artists’ selected for the exhibition will also receive:

  1. Promotion on The Center’s large social media platforms.
  2. Professional installation images for your use.
  3. In-gallery and online exhibition with links to artists’ websites
  4. Press releases are sent to artists’ choice of media outlets.

Members | $24 for the three images.
Non-members | $38 for the first three images.
Additional images may be submitted for $7 each for members and $10 each for non-members. There is no limit to the number of images that may be submitted.
