Opportunity Description

U.S. National Deadline: July 22, 2017 – The Arts Guild of Sonoma is celebrating 40 years as a nonprofit artists’ collective in the heart of Sonoma wine
country. That’s the power of art. We invite you to share the power of your art in this National Juried Open Show.

Donna Seager and Suzanne Gray of the Seager Gray Gallery in Mill Valley, CA, offering some of the best contemporary art on the West Coast.

Open to all artists nationally (over 18 years) in the mediums of Sculpture, Printing, Painting, Photography, Ceramics, Assemblage, Collage, Mixed Media, Fiber Art, and Book Art. This exhibition does not accept jewelry, video, film, performance art, installation or artwork requiring a power source.

  1. All work must be original – no reproductions.
  2. No works over 50 pounds.
  3. 2D work: may not exceed 1800 square inches, must be wired (no sawtooth hangers), and unframed canvases must have painted edges.
  4. 3D work: may not exceed 16” width/length and 48” height, and must include a stable base or hanging hardware, if applicable. The gallery will furnish pedestals as needed.

$300 for Best of Show, and $50 each for up to three honorable mention awards.

$40 for up to three entries. $5 discount for AGS members. Entry fees are nonrefundable.

Work will be selected from online submissions. It is the artist’s responsibility to review and abide by the rules and procedures for submission, jpeg sizes and payment as outlined in the entry form.

Please include a resume, statement and/or bio for our gallery binder. Selected work must be received by 5pm on August 24, or it will not be shown. Artist is responsible for cost of shipping, and must include a prepaid return-shipping label (with barcode) in a re-usable carton or crate. Works shipped without these will not be returned to the artist. Please do not use Styrofoam peanuts or other similar loose packaging materials.

Unsold hand-delivered work must be picked up Tuesday Oct 3, 11am-4pm. Works not picked up will be charged $5 per late day, and AGS is not responsible for any artwork left beyond 30 days after close of show. Unsold shipped work will be shipped out within 7 days of close of show.

All works must be for sale. Artists receive 60% of the sales price of the work. Sales occurring up to 30 days after the closing date of the exhibition are subject to a 40% donation to AGS.

No substitutes will be accepted for selected works. Work must be on view for the duration of the exhibition. AGS and its representatives assume no liability for damage or loss. Insurance for damage or loss is the sole responsibility of the artist. Artist agrees that selected works may be used by the Arts Guild of Sonoma to advertise and promote this exhibition.

Entry into this exhibition constitutes an agreement to comply with all rules and conditions set forth above.
