U.S. National Deadline: Open Until Filled – Non-profit Chelsea Gallery seeks responsible, well organized self-starter with good social skills for Gallery Administrator position. Interface with the public, Gallery Members, Board of Directors. Manage exhibitions and ongoing gallery projects. Recruit and supervise interns. Administrative experience required. Computer skills essential. Art-related background preferred. Additional experience in graphic design, public relations welcome. Grant writing experience desirable.
Good writing skills

Internet website posting/Social Media
Familiarity with FileMaker Pro (for mailing lists), Constant Contact
QuickBooks a plus.
Gallery Hours: Tues.-Sat. 11-6 and evening receptions/other exhibition-related activities.
Compensation: Base salary $29,000. Average 37 hrs/week. Opportunity for additional income (Bookkeeping experience, design projects, etc) Sick leave, personal leave, vacation.
First Street Gallery’ is a nonprofit contemporary art gallery located in the heart of Chelsea, steps from the High Line. We offer two exhibition spaces on the second floor of a prominent Gallery building.
Through innovative programming that brings art and the community together, First Street Gallery’ continues to nurture, educate, inspire and challenge artists everywhere. As an artist run gallery, we encourage members to pursue and determine the course of their own artistic careers.
