Art Calls Off The Block Print Expo
Opportunity Description
International Deadline: April 15, 2022 – Off The Block Print Expo is the Foundry Art Centre’s summer juried exhibition. Printmakers, print studios, and print collectives are all encouraged to apply.
What constitutes a print that will be considered for this exhibition? Any work created on one surface and then transferred to another, in a process which is repeatable thereby enabling the production of multiple impressions, such as woodcuts, lino-cuts, intaglio, engraving, etching, drypoint, mezzotint, planographic printing, lithography, and screen prints. Digital prints will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
On display main Gallery June 3 – 18, 2022.
FEE
The application fee is $35, non-refundable.
SALES
There is a 50%-50% commission split on all sales from the exhibition.
DATES
Application Deadline: April 15, midnight
Artists Notified by: May 1
Artwork Delivery: May 19-21
Opening Reception: Friday, June 3, 5-8pm
Artwork Return: June 18 & 20
About:
The Foundry Art Centre resides in what was once a train car factory; a 1920’s structure formerly owned by American Car & Foundry. Rather than demolish the 36,800 square foot building, the community of St. Charles worked tirelessly to complete a $2.2 million renovation and opened the region’s premiere, interactive, interdisciplinary art center in the spring of 2004.
As a vibrant home to the arts, the Foundry Art Centre raises awareness and appreciation of the arts throughout the region. Alive with activity, the Centre’s programming reinforces the importance of the arts and helps ensure that arts and culture remain vital. Artists, patrons, young people and the community at large continually find new ways to interact at this unique facility.
