International Deadline: July 28, 2017 – Hosted by the Federation of Canadian Artists, this entirely online exhibition and competition is open to artists worldwide. A portion of all submissions also assists in the creation of a $1,000 bursary for a visual arts student enrolled in a post-secondary institution.
No limits on style or subject matter.
Laurie Koss, SFCA, Elisabeth Sommerville, SFCA and Jeff Wilson, AFCA. Images will be reviewed independently online by eachjuror. Successful images are considered by the panel as a group for awards when the exhibition is on display. All artists will receive emailed notifications of their results.
First Place – $500.00
Second Place – $300.00
Third Place – $200.00
Entries that are successful at jury will display in an online gallery at www.artists.ca between August 1 – October 31, 2017.
In addition to the prizes for participants, a portion of each submission also helps build a $1,000 bursary for an emerging artist in continued education.
Acrylic, graphite, ink, mixed media, oil, pastel, pen, pencil and watercolour. Original hand pulled prints are eligible in runs of up to 200 in an edition. Please state the print number and the number of prints in your edition in your submission under the “description” field. All artwork must be two-dimensional.
Photography, digital photography, digital prints, digital art, posters, giclée and mechanical reproductions. If a computer, tablet or phone has been used in the creation and/or production of your piece, it is considered digital art and therefore not eligible.

The Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA) was founded in 1941 and operates as a registered not for profit society with members throughout the world. The FCA is dedicated to raising artistic standards by stimulating participants to greater heights of knowledge and achievement by offering what is believed to be the first completely artists sponsored gallery in Canada. The Federation Gallery features bi-monthly juried exhibitions of works by emerging and Signature members as well as two juried international shows held annually. An extensive education program which is open to non-members as well as members, offering workshops, classes, critiques and lectures in the fine arts media, with instruction by successful established artists who can help all artists to explore and develop their artistic interest and talent. Membership in the FCA is open to all who appreciate art.
