Call for Submissions Winter Wonders: Holiday Exhibition at the Monmouth Museum
International Deadline: October 16, 2016 – The onset of winter inspires many emotions – the beauty of snow and ice, the joy of the holiday season, and the bleakness of long dark days, all contribute to our common experiences during this season. Winter is the coldest season of the year in polar and temperate climates and is caused by the axis of the Earth being oriented away from the Sun. During this time when Jack Frost makes his presence known we are treated to many wonder inspiring sights. But like any visitor who stays too long, as the frigid season drags on we are often desperately and collectively contemplating “I wonder how we will get through this?”.
For this juried exhibition we would like to see visual depictions of frozen scenery, holiday scenes and winter activities. All visual arts media applications will be considered (drawing, print, painting, mixed media work, photography, sculpture, video, etc.) We encourage artists to submit works that convey the winter season realistically or symbolically.
Open to all artists worldwide age 18 and over. All artwork entered must be the artist’s original creations completed within the last five years, and must not have been exhibited in past Monmouth Museum exhibitions. Exhibition inclusion is not guaranteed with entry.
$20 per piece entered (limit 4 pieces) Example: 4 submissions = $80
Artworks will be considered through online submission of digital jpeg images.
The Monmouth Museum encourages the sale of exhibited artwork. The Monmouth Museum will collect the purchase price for all work, take a 20% sales commission and issue a check for the remainder to the artist at the close of the exhibition.
