U.S. National Deadline: May 22, 2017 – The Berkeley Arts Council in Martinsburg, West Virginia announces its 2017 National Juried Photography Exhibit, to be displayed in the Berkeley Art Works Gallery, 116 North Queen Street in Martinsburg.
The exhibit will be on display June 28 – August 12, 2017. There will be a reception on Friday, June 30, from 5-7pm.
The exhibit is open nationally to all photographers without restriction to technique. The theme for the exhibit is open. Entries must have been created by the artist within the past three years and have not been exhibited in the Berkeley Art Works gallery.
Neal Rantoul is a career artist and teacher. He has taught photography since 1971. He is an emeritus professor and was head of the Photography Program at Northeastern University for thirty years and taught for thirteen years at Harvard University as well. Rantoul has work in numerous public and private collections and is the recipient of many awards and grants.
Projected awards fund is $750.
The entry fee for the exhibit is $35 for the first two works. Artists may submit one or two additional works for $10 each for a maximum of four works.
The notification announcing the juror’s selections will be sent by email and posted on our web site on or about June 1.
If accepted, the original works must be framed and equipped with wire, ready for hanging. Frames not exceed 36 in width. No substitution, exchange, modification, or withdrawal of works is permitted after they are accepted for the exhibition.
The Berkeley Arts Council will retain a 30% commission on all sales. Works may not be removed during the exhibition.
The Berkeley Art Works is a community-based arts facility that supports local and regional artists, brings quality arts experiences for the members of the public, and provides a wide range of arts learning experiences for local residents, artists, and artisans.
