Opportunity Description

International Deadline: November 11, 2016 – Reading Room Cafe Project Publishing’ is proud to announce our new spring competition. The top prize is publication in a collection of fairy tales, cash and 5 copies of the book.

We want you to send us 2 -4 A4 portrait illustrations for your chosen fairy tale (see below).

Because of the amount of time and effort this can take we will be marking next to each story the number of entries we’ve had for each, you’ll have a better chance of choosing one with less entries. Don’t worry if you’ve already done your illustrations and the story has loads of entries already, we’ll still judge them all together.

DO NOT SUBMIT WORK WITH ANY TEXT OVER THE IMAGES
If you want to read the story before you start, the full text of these stories look on tha back page or you can find the stories online (make sure you find the Grimm version)

Emma has a love for Arthur Rackham, but we are looking for a mixture of styles, retro, classical, manga, vector, comic, line drawing, you draw it, we’ll consider it.

AWARDS
While we can’t offer an exhibition, we can offer something tangible, something to point at and say look! I did this! And it will be yours.

The top prize here is publication in a collection of fairy tales, £100 in cash and 5 copies of the book. On top of that we’re adding 5% of profits from any copies sold.

Runners up will be classed as contributors and receive 2 free copies of the book and 0.5% of profits from any copies sold.

All contributors will have the option to buy more at a reduced rate.
