Competitions San Francisco Dance Film Festival

International Deadline: May 1, 2017 – Call for entries for dance related video art, animation, and experimental short film appropriate for installation, preferably single channel work suitable for projection or monitor-based presentation.
Selected entries will be presented by Catharine Clark Gallery in their dedicated media room during “BOX BLUR | Dance, Word and Performance in Concert with Chris Doyle’s exhibition, ‘Swell’,” and for the entire run of the San Francisco Dance Film Festival.
Established in 1991, the Catharine Clark Gallery exhibits the work of contemporary artists working across a wide range of media. The gallery has pioneered the presentation of new media art in San Francisco. Located within San Francisco’s emerging DoReMi arts district Catharine Clark Gallery is situated in proximity to leading arts venues.
All films selected for the Festival are eligible for the following awards:
• Best Documentary ($1,000)
• Best Live Performance Capture ($500)
• Best Student Film ($500)
• Best Art/Experimental ($500)
• Best Technical Achievement ($500)
• Best Screendance Film
— Under 5 minutes ($500)
— Under 10 minutes ($500)
— 10 minutes and Over ($500)
Audience Favorite awards, selected by audience survey from the individual screen dance shorts programs, will be announced the week following the festival.
