Competitions 14th Annual Emerging Artists Exhibition
International Deadline: March 26, 2018 – For a fourteenth straight year we offer this challenge to students and the recently graduated in regional, national, and international college undergraduate programs to show us what they have achieved, bring it off campus, and share it with our international viewing public. To date Manifest has exhibited works representing 189 different academic institutions.
We believe there exists tremendous unexposed quality among people pursuing degrees in the visual arts. Revealing artists and new work to the public is part of our non-profit mission!
This exhibit will feature the best work from artists about to receive or recently awarded an undergraduate degree from a regional, national, or international college art or design program. All entrants must have received or be scheduled to receive a college undergraduate degree in 2017, 2018, or 2019, and provide a current academic reference’s contact info.
Entrants must have graduated or plan to graduate in 2017, 2018, or 2019 from an undergraduate program of art or design.
Open to any and all traditional and non-traditional visual arts media, genre, subject matter, and content.
In addition to the $500 Best of Show cash award for this exhibit, exhibitors included in RITES will have a chance to be considered for the Manifest Grand Jury Prize. The prize will result in the awarding of one cash prize ($2500) to a single work selected as the ‘best of the season’. Winner will be determined by a final end-of-year jury from among a pool of all top-scoring works from each exhibit’s jury process across the current exhibition season.
Rites also offers a Director’s Choice Award, a non-monetary recognition of a work chosen by Manifest’s Executive Director as deserving particular distinction.
JURY & CURATOR
Manifest’s selection process involves a complex two-part system. This exhibit will be juried by an anonymous 5-9 member panel of professional and academic advisors with a broad range of expertise relative to art and design. The jury will then pass along their recommendations to the exhibit curator who will make the final selections from the jury-approved pool.
Manifest Press will produce a high quality hard-cover publication documenting each entire season of exhibits, artists, and works shown. This continues Manifest’s commitment to long-term documentation and dissemination of our projects, and the expansion of physical exhibits into a broader geography and time frame, while also bringing all exhibits together under one cover each year to create a better product which will be more valuable to the public, teachers, libraries, and exhibiting artists.
$25 for one entry, $40 for two or three entries, and $10 per each additional entry. Fees are non-refundable. Number of entries is unlimited.
Visit Manifest Gallery online to Apply. The online submission is required.
