Call for Submissions CICA Museum: No Image
International Deadline: April 27, 2018 – CICA Museum invites artists worldwide to participate in the international exhibition “No Image.” We are open to text art, sound art, installation art, performance art, and instruction-based art.
CICA fosters projects of experimental artists. We aim to provide a creative, yet comfortable space for artists and the community to nurture their creative and critical thinking with visual culture while they communicate with each other.
Exhibition Dates: June 8 – 24, 2018.
CATEGORIES & INSTALLATION
— Text Art
Text can be printed in 10×15 inches, framed, and installed by our curators & assistants.
‘Removable’ text stickers can be sent by artists and installed by our curators & assistants. The materials should be removable and should not leave any marks when removed. If text decals are larger than 39 inch (1 m) on the longest side, additional fees may apply.
— Sound Art
We will provide media players and headphone/speaker for the show and our curators & assistants will install works according to artists’ installation guidelines. If the work requires more than one media player and one speaker/headphone, please indicate the special requirements in the submission email. Additional fees may apply.
— Installation Art, Performance Art, Instruction-based Art
The artist is responsible for the shipment and delivery of his/her physical work to and from CICA Museum, as well as all related expenses. Additional fees may apply for the two-dimensional work larger than 39 inch (1 m) on the longest side, and the installation piece larger than 59x59x79 inches (1.5 x 1.5 x 2 m, w x l x h). The work that needs to be mounted on the wall should not exceed 10 kg.
No Application Fee. However, if your work is selected, you will be required to pay the printing & show maintenance fee: $60 (USD) per work.
Please send us up to 3 direct links to video and/or up to 5 JPG images (100-500 kilobytes per image recommended), and your bio. Please email them to “firstname.lastname@example.org.” Please write “Submission: No Image – Category – Artist’s Name” in the subject line of your email.
CICA Museum has a collection of artist Czong Ho Kim’s sculptures, paintings, and architecture, as well as many renowned international artists’ works. For special exhibitions, we exhibit Contemporary Art pieces including painting, sculpture, and new media art. CICA also offers education and public programs for the cultural development of local communities.
