Competitions Contemporary Realism
U.S. National Deadline: April 25, 2020 – Smithtown Township Arts Council invites submissions for its upcoming juried fine art exhibition: “Contemporary Realism” at Mills Pond Gallery.
Only Oil paintings will be considered in this call for submissions. The subject matter is open and can range from portrait, landscapes, still life, etc. Paintings should be representational, ranging from impressionistic in style to highly rendered paintings.
Open to all artists ages 21 and over in the United States. Entries may not have shown previously at Mills Pond Gallery. All work must be original and must have been completed in the last four years. No reproductions or giclees.
One of the most respected and highly accomplished realist painters today, Max Ginsburg’s paintings are in many prominent collections including The Butler Institute of American Art, The New Britain Museum, The Washington County Museum, The Society of Illustrators Museum, The Salmagundi Club, The Art Renewal Center (ARC), The Martin Luther King Labor Center to name just a few. Paintings will be juried on the basis of their artistic quality and skill level.
$1200 Best in Show, $800 Second Place, $400 Third Place Entries will be judged on the originality and insight with which they embody this theme visually.
$45 for up to 3 entries. $35 for STAC artist level members.
