International Deadline: August 17, 2018 – The A.D. Gallery, UNC Pembroke Art Department, announces a call for artists worldwide to enter our 9th Annual International Juried Exhibition.
Interpretations of the theme of “Empathy” are welcome in a variety of media, subjects, and approaches. Artists are invited to submit two-dimensional, three-dimensional, installation or digital media (including video based media). Composition, technique, style and expression will be considered as well as craft in the selection process.
On display September 20 – Saturday, October 20, 2018.
JUROR: Ling-Wen Tsai
Ling-Wen Tsai’s practice spans a broad range of media, and her work has taken the form of installation, performance, video, photography, painting, drawing, and combinations of these media. Ling-Wen exhibits her work nationally and internationally. She is a Professor at Maine College of Art.
Open to all national and international artists. Works must be completed within the last three years and not have been previously exhibited at the A.D. Gallery. Artwork should be original, no mass produced prints or reproductions. Submitting artists must be at least 18 years of age.
$600 first prize, $200 second prize, and $100 third prize
The processing fee is $25 (includes 3 entries per artist, up to 3 additional images may be submitted for details or 3-D works).
Sale of work is not permitted as this is a non-profit gallery supported through a state funded university.

Delivery of Accepted Work – September 10 – 14
Dates of Exhibition – September 17 – October 20
Opening Reception – Wednesday, September 26, 4:30-6 p.m.
Pick up / Return Shipment – October 24 – 30
The A.D. Gallery is sponsored by the Art Department of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Serving the university and local community, the gallery provides a venue for student and faculty work, as well as that of local, regional, national and international artists. The gallery helps fulfill the department’s goal of providing outstanding educational opportunities for its students by bringing quality visual arts to the university and the community at large.
The A.D. Gallery features approximately 960 square feet of exhibition space, an upper register with a skylight, and the ability to display large-format work.
