Residencies Lighthouse Works Fellowship Program

U.S. National Deadline: October 16, 2017 – Lighthouse Works is accepting applications from visual artists and writers for its 2018 Winter and Spring Fellowships. Fellowships are six-weeks in length and provides room and board, studio space and $1,750 in stipends.
Artists at any stage of their career are encouraged to apply for a fellowship through our online application system. Applicants are required to fill out an application form, submit work samples and attach a CV and current work statement.
Winter – January 23 to March 6, 2018
Spring I – March 20 to May 1, 2018
Spring II – May 15 to June 19, 2018
Applicants are encouraged to read completely the guidelines before applying. Please note, applications that fail to follow these guidelines will be dismissed unread.
While our staff reviews applications for completeness, a jury of professionals in each artist’s field evaluates the applications. Finalists will be invited for a phone interview and all applicants will be informed of the committee’s decision by December 15, 2017. Artistic excellence is the primary criteria for acceptance as a Lighthouse Works fellow.
The Lighthouse Works is a 501(c)3 nonprofit arts organization devoted to encouraging the development of artists through a fellowship program and to the enrichment of the year-round cultural and economic vitality of Fishers Island, New York.
Our program is unique in its size and intimacy; we award fellowships to 25 artists a year. In a program this small, everyone gets to to know each other. Thus the fellowship, while allowing ample solitude and plenty of unstructured work time, also allows for conversation, critique and collaboration.
