Competitions 16th Annual Rites of Passage: Emerging Artists Exhibition
International Deadline: March 22, 2020 – The Cincinnati based non-profit arts organization and gallery, Manifest, invites students and the recently graduated in regional, national, and international college undergraduate programs to show us what they have achieved, bring it off campus, and share it with our international viewing public. To date Manifest has exhibited student works representing over 200 different academic institutions.
We believe there exists tremendous unexposed potential among people pursuing degrees in the visual arts. Revealing artists and new work to the public is part of our non-profit mission!
This exhibit will feature the best work from artists about to receive or recently awarded an undergraduate degree from a regional, national, or international college art or design program. All entrants must have received or be scheduled to receive a college undergraduate degree in 2019, 2020, or 2021, and provide a current academic reference’s contact info.
Entrants must have graduated or plan to graduate in 2019, 2020, or 2021 from an undergraduate program of art or design.
Open to any and all traditional and non-traditional visual arts media, genre, subject matter, and content.
Manifest’s carefully assembled multi-member juries change from project to project, and as a body have no collective predisposition towards any particular kind or style of art.
$500 Best of Show Award.
Plus, the annual Manifest Grand Jury Prize will result in the awarding of one cash prize ($2500) to a single work selected as the ‘best of the entire season’. Winner will be determined by a final end-of-year jury from among a pool of all top-scoring works from each exhibit’s jury process across the current exhibition season.
JURY & CURATOR
Manifest’s selection process involves a complex two-part system. This exhibit will be juried by an anonymous several member volunteer panel of professional artists and academic advisors with a broad range of expertise relative to art and design. The jury will then pass along their recommendations to the exhibit curator who will design the exhibit from the jury-approved pool.
