Opportunity Description

U.S. National Deadline: January 7, 2018 – The National Association of Women Artists, Inc. (NAWA) announces a call for artists for its upcoming exhibition exhibition ‘Shelter’, to be held at the Harlem School of the Arts, New York, March 1 – 31, 2018.

ELIGIBILITY
Open to All Women Artists 18 Years of Age and Older. No gicleés of paintings or reproductions except for photography. No ceiling hung art. No nudes, open flames, firearms, or pyrotechnic devices allowed.

THEME
One of our most basic needs, with food and love, ‘Shelter’, is a major concern for all living beings. ‘Shelter’ is a major concern, especially when it comes to refugees, immigrants, those struggling to pay the rent, homelessness, climate change, drug addiction and victims of domestic violence. Artwork centered on ‘Shelter’, open to the artists’ interpretation, can bring light to these ongoing problems.

Certificates of Excellence Awarded.

ENTRY FEE
Entry fee $40 for NAWA members, $50 for nonmembers. Each entrant is entitled to submit three (3) artworks.

SALES
All work must be for sale: Artist receives- 70%, NAWA-­‐ 30%.

DATES

  • Notification of accepted/rejected artwork online: January 12, 2018
  • Delivery of accepted artwork: February 12 – 20th, 2018, 8:00am – 8:30pm
  • Reception: Thursday, March 1, 2018, 6:00pm – 8:30pm
  • Removal of artwork: April 2, April 3, April 4, 2018, 8:00am – 8:30pm (shipped art work will go out ASAP)
  • Gallery Hours: Monday through Saturday, 8:00am – 9:00pm
