Competitions For Every Negative There Is A Positive
U.S. National Deadline: June 27, 2018 – The St. Louis Artists’ Guild is holding a national call seeking artwork for our upcoming exhibit titled ‘For Every Negative There Is A Positive’.
For every negative there is a positive, for every action, there is a reaction, and for every balance, there is a counterbalance. We have been taught to “see” negative space to better define positive shape or form. How does negative and positive space work in tandem to describe the content and attitude of a work of art? For this exhibition, the St. Louis Artists Guild seeks submissions that explore these concepts either artistically, emotionally, socially or all of the above. Calls for entry are open to all media including but not limited to painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, video, performance, mixed-media, and installation.
