International Deadline: January 15, 2018 – The Fiber Artist Fellowship seeks to provide early-career fiber artists the opportunity to learn new techniques and skills while engaging with a vibrant community of artists from all over the world. Each fellow is awarded two weeks of workshops, housing, and meals (lunch and dinner) during Quilting by the Lake (July 15-27, 2018) in Syracuse, NY. From the beginning, QBL recruited some of the most innovative and legendary artists to teach and that tradition continues today. Classes are offered in design, techniques, and surface design. In addition to classes, the sessions includes artist lectures, a quilt show, and many other activities.
Fellows have their choice of 15 signature workshops, including independent study. Quilting by the Lake has two week long sessions that offers 2-day, 3-day, and 5 day workshops. Fellows are welcome to combine workshops and independent study to suit their artistic needs.
