Residencies Create Art on the Greek Island of Skopelos
International Deadline: Ongoing – The Skopelos Foundation for the Arts Skopelos, an American owned and operated artist studio located on the Greek Island of Skopelos, is looking for the adventurous artist that would want to immerse themselves and create from the Greek culture. We offer residencies in ceramics, painting, printmaking and sculpting.
We accept applications year round, and following receipt of a completed application, the review process takes approximately 2 weeks. The deadline is 90 days prior to your arrival, preferably earlier.
We offer residencies for two weeks to two months for ceramists, mixed media artists, painters, printmakers and sculptors from April through November. If for some reason you cannot stay for the full two weeks, we may make an exception on a case by case basis to prorate the time the artist works in the studio.
While at the Foundation, we recommend that artists stay in a pension that is within walking distance of the studio. The prices vary depending on the time of the year. Prices range from 25 – 60 euros per night.
The rooms have a kitchenette so that residents may prepare their own food if necessary. Artists who have specific facilities’ needs should contact the Foundation to determine if our studio will accommodate your work. The residency fee is tiered based on the length of your stay.
Residency prices not including housing for the year 2020:
2 weeks – $650
3 weeks – $750
4 weeks – $850
Please note that applications must be received three months prior to the residency.
