Ezine/Print Utopia Science Fiction Magazine’s Annual Art Contest
Opportunity Description
International Deadline: August 10, 2022 – Calling all Artists or any medium! Utopia Science Fiction is having its 3rd annual art contest. Send in your best bit of science-fiction artwork for the chance to have your creation featured as our cover-art in an upcoming issue of our magazine.
Founded July, 2019, Utopia Science Fiction (USF) Magazine is a growing science fiction magazine dedicated to publishing quality science fiction short stories, science articles, and poetry.
AWARDS
- 1st place – Your artwork submission is featured as Cover Art on an upcoming issue of Utopia Science Fiction, win $45 and a year subscription to Utopia Science Fiction Magazine.
- 2nd and 3rd place – Your artwork will be featured as interior artwork in an upcoming issue of Utopia Science Fiction, win $35 and a free copy of the magazine which features your artwork
- All other entrants – win a free copy of the next issue of Utopia Science Fiction Magazine.
ELIGIBILITY
- Contest is open to all lifeforms regardless of species, talent, and FTL capabilities.
- Artwork doesn’t need to be new. It can be a preexisting work. As long as it hasn’t already been featured as cover art for another magazine and as long as submitter still retains reproduction rights to sell.
- Artwork submissions must be the original creations of those who submit the work and cannot be copied or submitted by anyone who did not create that work themselves.
- Any medium is acceptable as long as it loosely categorizes as Science-Fiction/Fantasy artwork.
- Limited 2 submissions per any person. (No one will be allowed to win more than one prize)
JURY
Artwork will be judged by the editors of Utopia Science Fiction Magazine and Patreon supporters. Final judgment decision will be made by Utopia Science Fiction Magazine editors.
ENTRY
Email up to two pieces of artwork to utopiasciencefiction@gmail.com with the subject ‘Art Contest’ Submission any time between now and August 10th, 2022. Please let us know you saw this announcement on “ArtDeadline.Com”.
Disclaimer: Artists must not have sold copyright outright, or copyright limited to their submission to any other publication. If your submission wins, Utopia Science Fiction will purchases reproduction rights for the specific and limited purpose of publishing work as cover or interior art for one issue of our Magazine. After publication of that issue all rights revert back to the Artist unless otherwise specified. This way the artist retains copyright and can continue to profit from it.
