Competitions FAR & WIDE National Juried Exhibition

U.S. National Deadline: March 17, 2019 – The Woodstock Artists Association (WAAM) announces a call for artists for its upcoming national juried exhibition, ‘Far and Wide’, on display May 11 – June 9. Open to artists living and working in the United States.
Artists are invited to submit up to 5 works that are innovative in form and content or that have been created within the parameters of traditional genres but nevertheless break new ground.
All work must be the original conception and execution of the artist listed on the application. Works in the following media will be considered:
– Original Prints (Traditional and digital. No reproductions of works existing in other media.)
Kimberly Camp, former President and CEO of the Barnes Foundation, who has had a distinguished career in the arts, both as a museum administrator and a practicing artist.
– The Arthur Harris Best in Show Award ($500)
– Nicholas Buhalis Award for Artistic
– Excellence in Abstract/Figurative or Figurative Work ($500)
$15 for members, $35 for non-members.
The WAAM will encourage sales and takes a 40% commission, however works of art need not be for sale.
The Woodstock Artists Association (WAAM), founded in 1919, is a not for profit membership organization. Its mission is to promote and foster the visual arts, art education, and artists through dynamic exhibitions and programs thus enriching and engaging the community. The WAAM is vital to the culture, history, and economy of the mid-Hudson region and beyond; its Contemporary Galleries, Permanent Collection, Archives, and Education Programs provide continuity, linking the past, present and future.
