Art Calls Wavelength: Yellow
Opportunity Description
U.S. National Deadline: September 7, 2026 – WAVELENGTH is an open call for color-specific artwork exploring the physical spectrum of visible color.
This year’s exhibition is focused solely on the color of yellow. Works do not need to be ONLY yellow, but must have a strong yellow presence. Artists are invited to submit works of any medium, including but not limited to: painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, ceramic, installation, video, and fiber. This exhibition will change color each iteration, offering a fun investigation into how different frequencies can shape human perception and spatial experience.
ELIGIBILITY
Artists must be 18+ years of age and reside in the United States. Artworks must have a strong presence of yellow. Traditionally framed artwork must be ready to hang with wire. Framing is not required.
JUROR
Ellen is a Fort Wayne based artist, curator and educator. She has a BFA in painting from Indiana University and MFA in two-dimensional studies from Bowling Green State University. Ellen has managed the exhibitions and educational programming at Artlink for over 6 years, and had several years of gallery management experience prior. She has taught visual arts courses at Bowling Green State, Purdue Fort Wayne and Saint Francis University.
ENTRY FEE
$12 per entry, up to 10 entries.
Jury notifications: After August 1, 2026.
SALES
All artwork sales are subject to a 35% sales fee. Artists will be mailed a check for sold work following the close of the exhibition.
