Opportunity Description
International Deadline: October 4, 2026 – Rotterdam Photo is an international photography festival and platform for contemporary image-making. Since 2016, we have brought together emerging and established artists from around the world, presenting photography in all its diversity in the public space of Rotterdam.
Each year, for several days, we transform the city into an open festival dedicated to photography – where exhibitions, encounters, and public programming come together in one shared space.
We believe photography should be experienced outside the walls of traditional galleries – in the city, among people, and as part of everyday life.
2027: VIBRANCE – The Pulse of a Living World
Vibrance is an exploration of energy in its many forms – from the intimate to the collective, from physical presence to digital intensity.
In a time where narratives are often shaped by crisis and fragmentation, this theme turns toward what continues to move, connect, and generate meaning. Vibrance is not only movement, but tension, rhythm, resistance, and transformation. It exists in bodies coming together, in cities in flux, in cultural expression, and in the invisible forces that shape everyday life.
We invite photographers to interpret Vibrance freely – as a social condition, emotional state, visual rhythm, or conceptual framework.
The 2027 edition takes place from 17-21 March during Rotterdam Art Week 2027.
ELIGIBILITY
Rotterdam Photo invites photographers from around the world to respond to this theme and become part of the 2027 edition of the festival.
ENTRY FEES
For photographic projects and series. Selected works are exhibited in the festival’s container village and public space – Submission fee: €29 per entry if submitted before 7 September 2026, 11:59 PM CET (Early Bird). After this deadline, the standard fee of €35 per entry.
For single image International series. Part of the Rotterdam Photo 2027 Open Call programme. Photographers may apply to multiple categories. Each submission is reviewed separately by the selection committee – €19 per image.
