Residency CICA Art Residency/Internship Program
Opportunity Description
International Deadline: April 10, 2026 – The CICA Museum invites artists worldwide to apply for the CICA Art Residency/Internship Program 2026–2027. The program will take place at the CICA Museum from June 2026 to May 2027, with both six-month and twelve-month terms available.
Artists will have access to a shared studio space and will present a one-week solo exhibition during their residency. Accommodation may be provided, along with work opportunities at the museum. Participants are expected to work 14 hours per week, and a monthly grant will be provided throughout the internship term.
Participating artists will also be featured in the e-book CICA Art Now 2027, with a print edition available upon request.
We also welcome universities and institutions to submit proposals for collaboration in the residency and/or internship program.
Program Details
- Six-month terms: June–November 2026 or December 2026–May 2027
- Twelve-month term: June 2026–May 2027
- Artists will have access to a shared studio space.
- Basic tools such will be available for use.
- Each artist will present a one-week solo exhibition in the gallery space during their term.
- If needed, a studio apartment with a private bathroom can be provided during the residency period.
- Artists are expected to work 14 hours per week, primarily assisting with children’s programs and museum events.
- A monthly grant of 800,000 Korean won (including tax) will be provided during the internship term.

DATES
- April 10, 2026: Submission deadline
- April 11–20, 2026: Selected artists will be notified by email. A reference letter must be submitted by the specified deadline, and online interviews will be scheduled.
- April 20–25, 2026: Final approvals. Selected artists will be notified by email.
- June 2026 – May 2027: CICA Art Residency/Internship Program
- August 1, 2027: Expected publication date of CICA Art Now 2027
