Competitions Visual Art Open Prize
International Deadline: December 31, 2016 – Artists are invited to apply for the Visual Art Open Prize, to win cash prizes of £2,000, plus a solo exhibition, and mentoring package. The primary goal of the awards, are to reveal and promote unknown artists who are yet to establish their profile in the contemporary art world. Finalists will also be invited to exhibit at a UK Art Fair.
The VAO competition is open to both amateur and professional artists worldwide. No age restrictions – all welcome to apply.
There are five Categories:
- Painting / Mixed Media
- Illustration / Drawing
- Emerging Artist / Young Artist (Under 24)
The overall winner of the VAO will be awarded: Cash prize of £1,000.00 to support the production of new works, Commercial mentoring package, Exclusive solo show, exhibition at Chester Art Fair. £250.00 will be awarded for each winning category
Karen van Hoey Smith
Owner of KvH Artbroker and Partner at Tunisan Collaboartive Painting in the UK, Karen has a wealth of experience in the art and antiques business spanning over 20 years. Taking on various roles including valuer, auctioneer and TV consultant expert on BBC.
After graduating from the Liverpool College of Art Adrian worked as an illustrator, Arts Development Officer and Lecturer in various academic and public institutions such as the University of Liverpool, The Barber Institute of Fine Art and also lead a series of lectures for NADFAS. Adrian’s career as an artist covers more than 30 years, exhibiting in both solo and mixed shows including 100 Years of the Walker Gallery, Manchester Academy Open Exhibition and Wilde Contemporary Art Show, Hyde Park Gallery in London.
Frances Ackland Snow
Frances grew up in an extremely artistic world which is where her passion for visual arts stems. After completing a Fine Art Foundation course at Oxford, Frances continued on to Brighton University where she achieved a first class degree in Fine Art Painting. From there, she became a scenic painter for the BBC before going on to develop her career as a Fine Artist and has since enjoyed great commercial and critical success. Frances is now represented by Whitewall Galleries and exhibits her work widely across the UK and Europe.
£15.00 per submission. £10.00 for entrants under 25 years old
The Visual Art Open [VAO] is a not for profit event and is administered by a panel of experienced accredited independent art experts.
