Opportunity Description

International Deadline: Ongoing – The Beatrice M. Haggerty Gallery invites submissions and proposals from artists and independent curators year-round. Typically we hold two person exhibitions, however, we are open to ideas for group shows or solo shows. If you are an artist applying consider letting us know if there is another artist you would like to exhibit with.

This gallery is an integral component of the University of Dallas Art Department and our exhibitions are designed to encourage a dialogue between artists and students; artists and the university community, as well as artists with the broader community. We hope to achieve this by inviting a dynamic array of contemporary artists to our campus.

ELIGIBILITY
We encourage local artists in the DFW area and Texas to apply. However, national and international submissions are welcome, additional sources of funding to cover accommodation and shipping expenses will need to be secured by the applicant.

Applications remain eligible for later programming if the artist wishes. All artforms are welcomed.

REVIEW
Exhibition proposals are reviewed by a committee of the University of Dallas scholars and artists. Our exhibitions average 8 weeks in duration and generally follow a typical school year September through May.

• Work Examples are to be formatted as a PDF with no more than 15 images ordered in viewing priority.
• All images should be clearly titled, with medium and sizes with the above mentioned PDF.
• Please provide a corresponding list of images saved as a PDF.
• Resume(s)/CV should include name and contact information and saved as a PDF.
• Include statement about work, title, concept and description of exhibition saved as a PDF.

Please do not email or bring in submissions. Original materials will not returned.

Notifications will be sent to the email provided in your submission if the gallery committee needs more information or is interested in moving toward an exhibition.

About:
The mission of the Beatrice M. Haggerty Art Gallery is to enhance the cultural environment of students, faculty, and staff at the University of Dallas, as well as to provide outreach to the larger community. We aim to achieve this goal by engaging the public with visual art that stimulates and challenges, in addition to communicating the broad character of the aesthetic experience.

Primarily a teaching gallery, the Beatrice M. Haggerty Gallery seeks to serve the University’s Art Department by offering exhibitions of the highest quality, offering a bridge between the learning environment and the diverse range of contemporary artistic practice. Creative thinking demands direct interaction with art that speaks through many voices.

Additionally, the Beatrice M. Haggerty Gallery has the goal of fostering interdisciplinary interaction to further the appreciation of the rich intellectual potential of the visual world.
