Job Description

U.S. National Deadline: December 4, 2023 – Antenna is now accepting exhibition proposals for our First Floor Gallery (formerly known as the Reading Room Gallery) that take an expansive, decolonial, and experimental approach to exhibit-making through artist books, zines, text and literary culture, or collaborations between artists and writers.

THE FIRST FLOOR GALLERY
The First Floor Gallery exhibitions, located on the first floor of our space, will be on display for two months, with receptions coinciding with the Second Saturday openings of the Antenna Gallery, located on the second floor.

ELIGIBILITY
The Antenna Collective is specifically interested in supporting exhibitions that align with Antenna’s mission to provide opportunities for support BIPOC, LGBTQ-GNC+, women, immigrant, and other abled cultural contributors and cultural bearers who produce artistic works projects at the intersection of Gender and Identity, the Environment, Equity, Renewable Resources, Abolition, Restorative Justice, and the histories of the Gulf South, and artists that take an expansive, decolonial, and experimental approach to exhibit-making.

AWARDS
Selected proposals will be exhibited for two months. Artists will receive $1,500 (split amongst the group, if collaborative) honorarium, to offset costs associated with the exhibition. Artists also receive installation and curatorial support. Antenna provides a $250 travel or shipping stipend and free housing at 3718 or 6330 St. Claude Ave residential spaces. Finally Artists have an opportunity to publish a small run exhibition catalog, artist book, or similar ephemeral to be determined in collaboration with Antenna’s Press, and Paper Machine Digital Book Production, Paper Machine.

  • June 14 – July 27, 2025: Length of Exhibition
