Compete 8th Edna Curry / John Bower Exhibition
U.S. National Deadline: January 22, 2022 – The Bower Center invites artists to enter our 8th Annual Edna Curry/John Bower Exhibition.
Open to all artists aged 18 and over. All entries must be original works (no reproductions) and created by the artists within the past three years and not been in a previous juried or judged exhibit at Bower Center. 2-D artwork must be secured in sturdy frames or gallery-wrap, and wired for hanging (frames with saw-tooth hangers or wired loops if rippling shows they may be rejected. No art will be released before 3pm, March 12.
Beginning in 2022 there will be a Youth Division included in the Annual Edna Curry/John Bower Exhibition. Artists aged 13- 17 who would like to begin entering exhibits may enter up to two original artworks. The presentation requirements are the same as if entering the adult division.

— 3D There is limited space for free-standing sculpture that is broad-based and of varying heights, contact Bower Center to discuss your entry. Art requiring pedestal bases is limited to 15”-20” at the base and 3’ – 4’ in height.
Nancy Newhard is currently the Curator and Education Coordinator at Alleghany Highlands Arts and Craft Center in Clifton Forge VA. Prior to her current position there, she was the Executive Director; and before being at AHACC she was Director of the Fine Arts Center in the New River Valley, in Pulaski VA. Her professional affiliations include: Virginia Commission for the Arts Panelist, (General Operating, Artists Residency); Virginia Association of Museums (Council, Conference presenter and member), and Assorted Civic Arts Projects-Pulaski, Radford, and Clifton Forge. Nancy has exhibited widely in juried, invitational and in outdoor exhibitions and received numerous awards for her artwork.
Adult Div : $30 entry fee for up to 3 works of art
Junior Div : $10 entry for up to 2 works of art
All art may be for sale. Artist is responsible for providing correct pricing, entry lists and identification labels. Bower Center will retain a 30% commission from the sales of art sold.
