Competitions Small Works: 41st Harper College National Juried Exhibition

Opportunity Description

U.S. National Deadline: June 15, 2018 – Harper College’s annual Small Works national juried exhibition highlights work selected from entries by artists from across the country. The show features a wide array of media, ranging from photography and prints to painting and sculpture.

ELIGIBILITY AND MEDIA
All artists age 18 and over living in the United States  are eligible. In its largest dimension, artwork must be 24 inches or less, including frame if applicable. All media are eligible, excluding jewelry and film/video. Only work created within the last three years is eligible.

Works may weigh no more than 45 pounds. Work that requires special installation or instructions will NOT be accepted.

JUROR
Leah Kolb is the Curator of Exhibitions at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art (MMoCA). She worked closely with Senior Curator Emeritus Richard Axsom for several years as MMoCA’s Associate Curator, prior to being promoted to her current position in June 2017. Together, Kolb and Axsom undertook their last curatorial collaboration at MMoCA with the traveling exhibition Frank Stella Prints: A Retrospective (2016) and the accompanying publication “Frank Stella: Prints: A Catalogue Raisonné.” They continue working together remotely on a catalogue raisonné of Terry Winters’ prints and drawings, slated to be published in 2020. AWARDS
Purchase awards may be available for accepted work. Accepted artists may be selected for a solo show at Harper College.

CATALOG
In conjunction with the Small Works exhibition, a color catalog will be produced. Each participating artist will receive catalogs by mail after the exhibition closes.

ENTRY FEE
One $35 nonrefundable fee entitles each artist to submit up to three entries.

SALES
Harper College will not retain commission on sales.
