Compete LENS 2024 Juried Photography Exhibition
Opportunity Description
International Deadline: January 24, 2024 – Perspective Gallery is pleased to announce LENS 2024, our 14th annual, juried, international exhibition of fine art photography. Photographers are invited to submit work for possible inclusion in the exhibition. All subject matter and photographic processes are welcome.
On display February 29 – March 31, 2024.
Photographers are invited to submit up to five (5) photographic images in JPEG format which have been created within the past five years. Images generated by AI are not permitted at this time.
JUROR
Aline Smithson is an interdisciplinary artist, editor, and educator. She has exhibited widely including exhibitions at national and international institutions and her work has been featured in major publications. Smithson is the Founder of Lenscratch, a daily journal on photography. In 2016, the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum commissioned Smithson to create work for the Faces of Our Planet Exhibition. In 2018 and 2019, her work was exhibited in the National Portrait Gallery in London as part of the Taylor Wessing Prize. The Magenta Foundation published her retrospective monograph, Self & Others: Portrait as Autobiography, Kris Graves Projects published her book, LOST II: Los Angeles. ACCEPTED ARTWORK
All accepted work must be framed in a professional manner with hanging wire (no sawtooth hangers). To help exhibiting international artists, Perspective Gallery will print their work with the cost paid for by the artist.
AWARDS
Juror’s Award: $300
1st Runner-up: $200
2nd Runner-up: $150
ENTRY FEE
There is a $40 (U.S). non-refundable fee for submitting up to five (5) images.
SALES
Artists will receive 60% of the sales price of any work sold. Perspective Gallery will receive a 40% commission on any artwork sold during the exhibition.

- Notification of acceptance: January 26, 2024
- Delivery of work to the gallery due: February 23, 2024
- Show opens: February 29, 2024
- Opening reception and awards: March 2, 2024
- Virtual Artists’ Talk: March 7, 2024, 7 p.m. (CST)
- Show closes: March 31, 2024
- Pickup of hand-delivered work: April 2, 2024 (AM)
- Return shipment of work: April 3, 2024
About:
Perspective Group and Photography Gallery is a not-for-profit, community-oriented cooperative whose purpose is to promote fine art photography. In addition to monthly group and featured artists exhibitions, the gallery features a guest speaker lecture series, monthly artist talks, an annual national juried exhibition, an annual invitational show; an annual Vicinity exhibition, and an annual juried show for Chicago-area high school students.
