Opportunity Description

U.S. Multi-State Deadline: March 3, 2022 – This Freeport Art Museum annual competition is open to artists living in Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan, Indiana, and Wisconsin. The mission of this annual Regional Juried Exhibition is to offer established and emerging artists the opportunity to debut work created in the last two years.

The museum has gained a distinguished reputation for displaying a wide range of contemporary art and this exhibition has become a visitor’s favorite.

Opening on Saturday, April 30, 2022, the show runs through July 30, 2022.

Open to artists living in Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan, Indiana, and Wisconsin. All works must have been completed within the last 2 years. Works previously exhibited at the FAM are ineligible.

We are proud to announce this year’s juror is the Chicago artist, Cleveland Dean. A multi-disciplined, self-taught, visual artist Cleveland Dean addresses internally personal and societal quandaries in abstract and conceptual ways. He pulls from various elements and life experiences and has formed an individual style that reflects his vision and studies of philosophy, sociology, psychology, history, and as a voyeur of humanity… see more

Each year, FAM invites a new juror to select approximately 50 artworks for inclusion, and the artworks to be awarded first, second, third place, and honorable mention. Award winners are announced at the opening reception. The awards are 1st place $300, 2nd place $200, 3rd place $100, and honorable mention $50.

Up to four artworks may be submitted by each artist. ($45 for up to four works. $35 for museum members).


The museum retains 10% of the sales price of work sold while on exhibit during the Regional Juried Exhibition.
