Compete National Juried Exhibition: Distinct
Opportunity Description
U.S. National Deadline: December 29, 2020 – This exhibition, “Distinct,” will explore the ways in which artists address issues related to identity and diversity such as race, gender or religion. Artists may approach the theme framing this exhibition in any way that conveys their perspective on the expansive topics of identity and diversity. The exhibition will address the question, “What does it mean to be human?”
The exhibition will be on display in the Williams Art Gallery in the Delaplaine Fine Arts Center, February 4 – March 4, 2021.
ELIGIBILITY
Open to all US artists 18 years or older and all two-dimensional media.
JURORS
A panel of ’s Fine Arts Department faculty.
AWARDS
There will be a cash prize for best in show.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS – No Entry Fee
Each artist may submit up to three works of art, no larger than 55 in. x 55 in. We will accept digital submissions.
Send 1-3 jpgs, 300 DPI, to williamsgallery@msmary.edu. Follow this format for labeling JPGs: lastname_1.jpg. Please include the following:
- name
- phone number
- address
- title, medium and dimensions per entry
- entrants are encouraged to include a brief artist’s statement
SHIPPING
Artists are responsible for all shipping fees of accepted works. Packing materials must be reusable. Please include return shipping postage.
SALES
Artwork is not to be sold during this exhibition.
PROMOTION
the University reserves the right to photograph works for publicity.
LIABILITY & INSURANCE
all artwork displayed in the gallery will be insured against any damages, up to $15,000 that may occur during the show.

- Exhibition Dates: February 4-March 4 2021
- Return of Artwork: postmarked by March 10, 2021
