RFP/Q's Sculpture Walk: Call for Artists
Opportunity Description
U.S. Multi-State Deadline: March 14, 2026 – The Walter E. Terhune Art Gallery at Owens Community College is seeking to commission an Artist or Artist team that is interested in loaning existing art sculptures to be exhibited outside the Center for Fine and Performing Arts (CFPA) for one year.
The concrete pads will be installed in between the Center for Fine and Performing Arts (CFPA) building and the Healthcare Education Center around an existing pond. The Healthcare Education Center houses the largest group of students on campus, and the CFPA is the home of the Creative Arts and Media Department. The sculptures can scale from 5 feet tall to 12 feet tall.
The sculptures will be on display from May 2026 until June 2027, and the call is open to artists within a 50-mile radius of Owens Community College.
ELIGIBILITY
Open to artists within a 50-mile radius of Owens Community College. The three-dimensional artwork must be original. The Walter E. Terhune Art Gallery is open to all themes and styles of art as long as the sculptures do not contain any elements that are objectionable to the College.
BUDGET
Each selected Artist or Artist Team will be provided a $1,500 honorarium. The honorarium is intended to cover all expenses, including travel and artist-provided property insurance should the artist choose to have the artwork covered. Owens Community College is not responsible for property damage or loss for sculptures on loan to the Walter E. Terhune Art Gallery. This honorarium will be paid in full when the work is successfully installed.

The Owens Community College CFPA is the home for fall and spring student theatre productions, and visiting musical artists. Owens has a robust history of performing arts and invites students & community members to enjoy our performances.
The Walter E. Terhune Art Gallery is a 1,300-square-foot gallery that hosts exhibits representing a wide range of media and styles, from traditional art to interactive, multi-media installations. The Gallery exhibits visual art from both Owens students and community members.
