Sonntag Grant for Photography

Opportunity Description

International Deadline: May 31, 2026– The Sonntag Grant for Photography, in collaboration with Replika Publishing, invites FLINTA (female, lesbian, inter, non-binary, trans, agender) artists to apply for a photobook open call.

We are looking for projects that can challenge the boundaries of the book as form. In particular we are looking to support artists and work that might not otherwise find a path to publication and offers space for under-recognised voices and projects rooted in conceptual depth, material inquiry, and artistic dialogue.

AWARD
The Sonntag Photobook Grant supports one FLINTA artist (female, lesbian, intersex, non-binary, trans, agender) with the publication of a photobook in partnership with Replika Publishing.

The award consists of:

  • The production and publication of a photobook by Replika Publishing
  • A print run of 350-500 copies, of which 50 copies are provided to the artist
  • A book launch event in Berlin hosted at Bildband Berlin
  • A €300 travel allowance and 2 nights accommodation for the selected artist

ELIGIBILITY
Submissions are open to self-identified FLINTA artists of any nationality or location, aged 18+. By submitting, participants confirm they are part of the FLINTA community. All forms of photographic work are accepted

Projects should be finished or at an advanced stage of development. Applicants are asked to submit up to 20 images from the project, selected from a substantially larger body of work.

We are primarily interested in projects rather than fully developed book dummies. The selected artist should be open to further developing the project in collaboration with Replika Publishing, including feedback and editorial direction during the book-making process.

APPLY ONLINE – €10 Application fee
