Compete Berlendis Venice Art Prize
Opportunity Description
International Deadline: September 24, 2026 – Marignana Arte and Kosmos Contemporary Venice APS are pleased to announce the second edition of the Berlendis Venice Art Prize, an international open call addressed to artists of any age and nationality.
The 2027 edition, titled Have we crossed the threshold? A journey beyond borders, identities and languages, invites artists to explore the idea of crossing as an aesthetic, political and existential practice. The theme may be interpreted through multiple perspectives: as a physical, inner, geographical, linguistic, cultural or symbolic passage; as a process of transformation; or as an exploration of the boundaries between media, identities, memories and disciplines.
The 20 finalists will take part in the group exhibition to be held at Spazio Berlendis (Cannaregio 6301, Venice) from 20 February to 21 March 2027. The exhibition will be accompanied by a dedicated publication, and one copy of the volume will be provided free of charge to each of the 20 finalist artists.
ELIGIBILITY
The Berlendis Venice Art Prize is is open to artists of any nationality and is divided into two sections:
- Emergent: artists aged between 18 and 30, who must not have turned 31 by the application deadline;
- Contemporary: artists over 30, with no upper age limit.
ELIGIBLE ARTISTIC DISCIPLINES
The following contemporary art media are eligible:
- Painting
- Drawing
- Printmaking and graphic arts
- Photography
- Collage
- Sculpture and Installation
- Textile Art
- Video Art
Each artist may submit only one work. The maximum permitted dimensions are 200×200 cm for two-dimensional works and 150x150x150 cm for three-dimensional works. The maximum weight for both types of work is 20 kg.
BENEFITS
A jury of professionals from the contemporary art field will select 20 finalists: 10 for the Emergent section, dedicated to artists aged 18–30, and 10 for the Contemporary section, dedicated to artists over 30. The selected artists will take part in a group exhibition at Spazio Berlendis, Venice, from February 20 to March 21, 2027.
The Prize includes two cash prizes and 5 special exhibition prizes, conceived to expand the dialogue between the finalists and galleries, institutions and spaces active in contemporary research.
- a cash prize of €1,000 gross awarded to the winner of the Emergent section;
- a cash prize of €2,500 gross awarded to the winner of the Contemporary section
The finalists’ exhibition will be accompanied by a dedicated publication.
Applications must be submitted online by 11:59 PM on September 24, 2026, through the dedicated application form available on the websites of Marignana Arte and/or Spazio Berlendis.

25 € for under 30, 35 € for over 30.
