Catvocates - A Celebration of Cats

Opportunity Description

U.S. National Deadline: October 15, 2026 – Catvocates is hosting A Celebration of Cats, a juried benefit exhibition November 13–15, 2026, at the M Fine Arts Galerie in Boston’s SoWa Arts District.

Catvocates is a group of volunteer leaders dedicated to funding cat initiatives at MSPCA-Angell, including cat adoption promotions, spay/neuter programs, and other feline welfare initiatives. Your participation in this event will help us help more cats in need.

Submit up to four original cat-themed pieces—painting, photography, sculpture, and more are all welcome. Entry is free, and artists keep 100% of your sale price when your work sells. Every piece shown helps fund MSPCA-Angell’s mission to keep cats healthy and home with the families who love them.

ELIGIBILITY
Open to artists working in painting, photography, sculpture, textile arts, prints, illustration, and other original media. Each artist may submit up to four (4) original works for consideration.

ARTWORK REQUIREMENT

  • All work must feature cat-themed or cat-inspired subject matter consistent with the exhibition theme.
  • Minimum stated value: $150 per piece. No maximum value applies.
  • All hanging artwork must arrive in display-ready condition, properly wired or otherwise suitable for installation.
  • Three-dimensional and sculptural works are welcome, subject to available space and display requirements.
  • All artwork must be the artist’s original one-of-a-kind creation.
  • 2D work has no size restrictions. We’re not able to supply pedestals, so any freestanding sculptural pieces will need to be self-supporting or support provided by the artist.. For wall sculptures, we’ll review each piece individually to make sure it’s a good fit for display.
  • Your submitted images may be used for exhibition publicity and social media promotion.

APPLY ONLINE – No entry fee.
Artists will be notified of jury decisions by October 22, 2026. Accepted artwork must be delivered on November 10–11, between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm.

SALES & DONATIONS

  • All works on display must be for sale.
  • All sales occur directly between the artist and the buyer.
  • Catvocates does not process payments, hold funds, or take commissions on sales.
  • Artists retain 100% of their sale price.
  • Attendees may choose to make a voluntary donation to MSPCA-Angell in connection with the exhibition, but donations are never required.
  • Artists are responsible for determining their own pricing and for collecting and remitting any applicable Massachusetts sales tax.
