Opportunity Description
U.S. National Deadline: January 20, 2027 – The Nice Art Grant is an artist grant provided by Midwest Nice Art.
Nice Grant is an unrestricted grant of $500 that supports emerging and mid-career artists. This annual grant is due January 20; each cycle, at least two artists will be selected to enhance their creative practices.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must be over 18 years of age. This call welcomes all mediums of visual and performance art, including but not limited to sculpture, fiber art, installation, video art, sound art, painting, photography, works on paper, and ceramics.
JURORS
The third cycle of this grant will be juried by Midwest Nice Art co-founders Tim Rickett + Epiphany Knedler, previous nice art grant winners hannah smith and noah thomas miller, and Norse Art Space founders Cody Henrichs and Joe Schaeffer. Winners will be asked to help jury Nice Grant in the following year.
AWARDS
Winners will receive unrestricted grant funds, a blog profiling their art and creative practice, a post pinned to our profile, and consideration for future jurying and curatorial opportunities.
Additional prizes this year include:
- residency and exhibition with Norse Art Space
- shortlisted artists: receive automatic acceptance into the annual nice;
- juried exhibition with a $50 shipping stipend
- semi-finalists: 50% discount on all future applications for a year
