Opportunity Description
International Deadline: September 12, 2026 – Spotlight is an international open call exhibition celebrating the power of painting and sculpture on a global stage. This showcase invites artists from around the world to present their most compelling works, offering a platform where creativity, innovation, and diverse perspectives converge.
Exhibition Dates: October 1-31, 2026.
ELIGIBILITY
All subjects permitted STYLE: All styles permitted. Open to oil, acrylic, water media, pastel, encaustic, pen and ink, pencil, graphite, and hand-pulled prints in print-runs of less than 200. Excludeded: digital art, photography, giclee (whether hand modified or not), pyrography, and any work that relies heavily on mechanical reproduction.
Submitted artworks must demonstrate concept, manipulation of materials, and evidence of the aesthetic judgment of the creator. Artwork must be “one-of-a-kind”, meaning that the production techniques expose each work to the possibility of uniqueness and where the reproduction series is limited to less than 200. All artworks must be finished to an archival standard and last up to a hundred years without a controlled display environment.
Framed and unframed artwork is permitted to this call. All submissions must be able to be installed by a potential client without additional or special consideration.

First Place: $2,000 CA, Second Place: $1,000 CA, Third Place: $500 CA
3 x Honourable Mentions – Awards in Title.
ENTRY FEES
Accepted in Canadian dollars only.
- Members :$20 for your submission and first submitted artwork. Further submissions are $20 per artwork
- Non-members: $25 for your submission and first submitted artwork. Further submissions are $25 per artwork. Artists can submit up to five (5) artworks for consideration.

About:
The Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA) was founded in 1941 and operates as a registered not for profit society with members throughout the world. The FCA is dedicated to raising artistic standards by stimulating participants to greater heights of knowledge and achievement by offering what is believed to be the first completely artists sponsored gallery in Canada. The Federation Gallery features bi-monthly juried exhibitions of works by emerging and Signature members as well as two juried international shows held annually. An extensive education program which is open to non-members as well as members, offering workshops, classes, critiques and lectures in the fine arts media, with instruction by successful established artists who can help all artists to explore and develop their artistic interest and talent. Membership in the FCA is open to all who appreciate art.
