Competitions 2018 Painting on the Edge

International Deadline: May 30, 2018 – Painting on the Edge is an annual international open call, competition and exhibition open to all artists worldwide. Each year this exhibition encourages artists to challenge themselves in their current practice and get out of their artistic comfort zones. All subject matter is welcome and all styles are welcome.
Acrylic, graphite, ink, mixed media, oil, pastel, pen, pencil, water media and hand pulled prints in runs of up to 200. All artwork must be two dimensional and signed. Framed and unframed artworks are permitted for this call.
Jurors TBD. Images will be reviewed independently online by each juror. Successful images are considered by the panel as a group for awards when the exhibition is on display. All artists will receive emailed notifications of their results. Artists may not send artworks that have not been juried and may not send artworks unless they receive an acceptance email.

All artworks must be available for sale with prices listed in Canadian dollars. Artists are informed immediately by phone or email, when sales are made. The FCA takes 35% commission on all sales, which the artist must factor in to their pricing at the time of submission.
About: The Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA) was founded in 1941 and operates as a registered not for profit society with members throughout the world. The FCA is dedicated to raising artistic standards by stimulating participants to greater heights of knowledge and achievement by offering what is believed to be the first completely artists sponsored gallery in Canada. The Federation Gallery features bi-monthly juried exhibitions of works by emerging and Signature members as well as two juried international shows held annually. An extensive education program which is open to non-members as well as members, offering workshops, classes, critiques and lectures in the fine arts media, with instruction by successful established artists who can help all artists to explore and develop their artistic interest and talent.
