Opportunity Description
International Deadline: April 21, 2024 – Art Scene West presents the Finest Art Showcase San Diego: an exhibition of fine art of the highest caliber.
From this open call opportunity, up to 60 artists will have their artwork juried, promoted, and showcased at the Art Scene West online gallery and in person at the exclusive live event on June 29th, 2024. Selected artwork will be exhibited on our website for 3 months (June 1st – August 31 2024) and the live event will take place at the elegant Marina Village Conference Center in San Diego, California.
Select artists will enjoy their own artist page on the Art Scene West website, featuring their artist bio, personal statement, artist photo, and artwork for the duration of the exhibition. They will also benefit from our social media, email, and local promotional campaigns of the exhibition. Select artists may also be invited to be an Art Scene West Gallery Artist full time. An archive of the show will also be permanently available on the Art Scene West website.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
This is an open call for artworks of all styles and various sizes. Acceptable artworks include 2D (two-dimensional) and 3D (three-dimensional) artwork. 2D artworks will be displayed on an easel at the live event and must not exceed 4ft x 6ft in size. 3D artworks must include their own base and may not exceed 50 pounds or 3ft width by 3ft height.
AWARDS
- Juries overall selection: 1st (Best in Show), 2nd, and 3rd place.
- Juries 3 “Honorable Mentions.”
- Curator’s selection: “Stand Out”, “Rising Star”, “Artist Spotlight”.
FEES
There is a 35$ submission fee. For artists who are selected for the exhibition, a 75$ participation fee will be required to cover the costs of handling the artwork, uploading material on our website, and curating the live event.
SALES
All artworks must be an original creation of the participating artist and must be available for sale and ready to ship.
TIMELINE
- Submission deadline: April 21st, 2024
- Artists will be notified of their selection on May 6th, 2024
- Online Exhibition goes live on June 1st, 2024
- Artwork delivery deadline: June 20th, 2024
- Live Event in San Diego: June 29th 2024
- Unsold artwork will be shipped back to artists beginning September 1st
About:
Launched in late February of 2020, Art Scene West started as a contemporary art gallery that represented established and emerging artists from the west coast and western parts of the United States. The gallery began in the virtual sphere and grew by partnering with artsy.net and opening a physical gallery on South Cedros in Solana Beach, Ca, which it held until the end of 2022. Art Scene West begins 2024 with a new focus on discovering artists through world-wide art competitions that it will host year around.
