Compete Art Scene West Call for Artists: Abstract
Opportunity Description
International Deadline: September 15, 2024 – Art Scene West is opening its submission doors to Abstract Artists everywhere! From this call opportunity, up to 20 artists will be selected to have their unique paintings adorn the walls of our downtown San Diego gallery for 2 months beginning October 4th – November 30th. During that time artists’ work will also be displayed on our Online Gallery and promoted on our social media channels and website.
Our gallery is located in Seaport Village of downtown San Diego, a beautiful attraction where tourists and locals gather to enjoy the seaside businesses, luxury restaurants, and beautiful Southern California weather.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Acceptable artworks are 2D (two-dimensional). Artworks must be hang-ready and must not exceed 4 feet (48 inches) in height or width. All artworks must be an original creation of the participating artist and must be available for sale and ready to ship.
FEES
There is a $35 submission fee to review the artist’s work and biography. For artists who are selected for the exhibition, the participation fee is $300.

TIMELINE

- Online Exhibition goes live on October 1st, 2024
- Artwork delivery deadline: October 3rd, 2024
- Opening Reception at the gallery: October 5th, 2024
- Unsold artwork will be shipped back to artists beginning on December 1st
About:
Launched in late February of 2020, Art Scene West started as a contemporary art gallery that represented established and emerging artists from the west coast and western parts of the United States. The gallery began in the virtual sphere and grew by partnering with artsy.net and opening a physical gallery on South Cedros in Solana Beach, Ca, which it held until the end of 2022. Art Scene West begins 2024 with a new focus on discovering artists through world-wide art competitions that it will host year around.
