Compete 39th Annual Bosque Art Classic
Opportunity Description
U.S. National Deadline: May 29, 2024 – The Bosque Art Classic is an annual juried and judged art show and sale hosted by the BAC Art Council. Over the years, it has become a national show which includes entries from international artists as well. The show is currently in its 39th year. The show is open to all artists who create realistic/representational art. First and second place awards are given to pieces in each category. Additional awards include the Art Patrons Purchase Award.
Exhibition/Sale Dates: September 14-28, 2024.
ELIGIBILITY
Open to all artists 18 years or older. Open to all artists who create realistic/representational art. Categories include: Drawing, Oil/Acrylic, Pastel, Sculpture, and Water Media.
JUROR
Martin Grelle is a three-time winner of the Prix de West Buyers’ Choice Award—he has received the Briscoe Museum’s Legacy Award for his impact on the world of western art, as well as the Booth Museum’s Artist of Excellence Award. In 2021 the Texas Senate recognized Grelle’s lifelong contributions to the arts, hailing him as a “Texas treasure” whose work “is an enduring homage to the beauty of the Lone Star State.

- 5,000 John Steven Jones Purchase Award
- $1,000 New Entrant Award
- $1,000 Art Patrons Purchase Award (awarded in addition to price of artwork)
- $1,000 Boren-Selvidge Award
- $1,000 Awarded to 1ST Place winners in each category: Drawing, Oil/Acrylic, Pastel, Sculpture, & Water Media
- $500 Awarded to 2ND Place winners in each category: Drawing, Oil/Acrylic, Pastel, Sculpture, & Water Media.
** Purchase awarded art becomes a part of the Bosque Arts Center’s Permanent Collection. This collection is displayed throughout the year for the public to enjoy for free.
ENTRY FEE
Entry fee of $25 per online entry; $30 per piece entered on CD (4 entries required to be eligible for John Steven Jones Award)

All work must be for sale. Be sure to build into your price the 25% commission along with shipping charges you expect to incur.

- May 29 Entry Deadline – No Exceptions
- July 19 Acceptance/regrets letters mailed
- August 19-24 Artwork receiving week
- September 13 Private Reception
- September 14 Opening Reception & Awards Presentation
- Sept. 28 & 29 Artwork Hand Pickups
- September 30 Unsold artwork will be repacked and ready for pickup Monday,
- September30. Shipped or hand delivered artwork must be removed from Arts Center premises by Saturday, Oct. 4, 2024. No exceptions.
