Opportunity Description
International Deadline: June 30, 2024 – Fiberart International 2025 seeks to exhibit the best of contemporary art and invites submissions that reflect a wide range of works related to the fiber medium. The exhibition is recognized around the world as a benchmark that documents trends and innovations in the field. The goal of the exhibition is to include innovative work rooted in traditional fiber materials, structure, processes and history, as well as art that explores unexpected relationships between fiber and other creative disciplines.

ELIGIBILITY
Open to exceptionally talented artists who are in the early, mid or late stages of their career and reside in the United States or abroad.
- Entries must be original work completed after July 1, 2023.
- All work must be either fiber in content or executed in a fiber technique.
- Artists must be 18 years of age or older.
- Work must be original in concept and design and not be the result of a class or workshop or in a degree granting institution.
- Collaborative works will be considered as a single entry.
- Work must not exceed 12 feet in height or width.
- Artists whose installation artwork is selected must either be available to install their work or provide explicit instructions for our experienced installation staff

- JoJo Abot is an interdisciplinary healer exploring evolving themes of spirituality, identity and community through music, film, fine art, fashion, photography and various other expressions.
- Louis Ho is a Singapore-based curator, critic and art historian. His research is concerned with the contemporary visual cultures of Southeast Asia, with a particular focus on the specific socio-cultural contexts in which various visual vocabularies have emerged in this part of the world, especially queer vernaculars. Ho was formerly a curator at the Singapore Art Museum.
- Tamara Kostianovsky is an Argentine American artist whose work addresses the environment, violence, and consumer culture, often employing discarded clothing to create visceral and intricate sculptures and installations. Kostianovsky is the recipient of distinguished awards including a Guggenheim Fellowship and grants from New York Foundation for the Arts and from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation. Her work has been reviewed in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, and more.

Contemporary Craft will present a $5,000 cash award.

FINALISTS & NOTIFICATION
Notification of the jurors’ decision will be sent by email by September 30, 2024. The prize-winning entry will be chosen from among the works accepted for the exhibition. The winner of the prize will be announced at the exhibition opening.
SALES
All works must be for sale. Contemporary Craft/Brew House Art receives a 50% commission on artworks sold. Commissions received through CC sales help support the free admission, education and community outreach programs of the nonprofit organization.

Established in 1993, Brew House Arts resides in the former Duquesne Brewing Company Brew House in Pittsburgh’s South Side. BHA cultivates a wide range of artistic development through an emerging artist residency called Distillery, a curatorial support program called Prospectus, and dynamic gallery exhibitions of contemporary art.
