U.S. Regional Deadline: September 3, 2025 – On behalf of the SF Embarcadero and DrawBridge Arts, we’re excited to invite Bay Area artists to submit their work for The Art of San Francisco—a new, curated art installation that will be displayed in the public windows of San Francisco’s Embarcadero Center promenade.

We’re bringing together the voices of established artists, community organizers, children, and innovators to reflect the layered, evolving story of San Francisco.

This installation is part of DrawBridge’s 35th anniversary celebration, honoring decades of trauma-informed expressive arts programming for children across the Bay Area, and will include the expressive creations of many of the children served by Drawbridge, include children locally served in the Tenderloin.

We’re accepting submissions across a wide range of media, including painting, installation, digital and video art, expressive arts, and more. The goal is to create a unified, compelling visual narrative that highlights how past, present, and future intersect in our city’s cultural landscape.

ELIGIBILITY

  • You must be based in the Bay Area
  • Open to all career stages
  • All submitted work must be original and ready for installation
  • If selected, please ensure you’re available to drop off your artwork sometime during the week of September 8, 2025.

ENTRY FEE
A small submission fee of $50 (tax-deductible donation to Drawbridge) is required.

Since 1989, DrawBridge has served more than 40,000 families through free expressive arts programs offered at shelters, affordable housing sites, and community centers throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Children ages five and up are given the opportunity to connect with their community and explore playful creativity that is essential to healthy development.

DrawBridge provides children with the opportunity to tap into their creativity and build self-confidence through expressive art.
