International Deadline: June 3, 2019 – This all-media exhibition will highlight works that are inspired by architecture or that incorporate architectural elements. Works may depict actual architectural forms, or may approach the theme less literally by incorporating grids or other structural lines. The visual language of drafting, such as plans, elevations, and cross-sections, may also be utilized in the artwork.
Open to all artists 18 years & older, world-wide, both amateur & professional, working in all styles & schools of thought. This includes alternative and traditional artwork.
All ceramic media in 2D & 3D forms will be considered. The piece must be made primarily of clay (50% or more of the artwork is composed of clay). 2D work and wall hanging work must be suitably prepared to hang with all hardware readily attached. There is no minimum size requirement and larger pieces must be able to enter the gallery through an 84” x 71” doorway. Once installed, work may not exceed 11 feet in height.
Nancy Newman Rice was born in New York City and was educated at Cornell University and at Washington University, where she earned a BFA with honors and an MFA. She was awarded a National Endowment for the Arts/MMA Fellowship for painting, an Artist’s Residency Award at the Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris, France and nominations for both a Tiffany and AVA Award in the Visual Arts. Artists may submit up to three works for a non-refundable processing fee of $35. Foundry Art Centre members may submit up to three works for a non-refundable fee of $24.
A maximum of 3 entries per artist may be submitted for consideration.
SALES, LIABILITY, AND INSURANCE
The Foundry Art Centre will retain a 35% commission on all sales directly attributed to the exhibition. Foundry Art Centre provides standard insurance at 50% of retail on all exhibited works while on premises. Artist is responsible for work in transit to and from.
